Enhanced CQS training courses with digital conveyancing insight to be available for Access Legal customers

To help firms and legal professionals maintain their Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) accreditations, Legal technology provider, Access Legal, one of the only approved providers of CQS training alongside The Law Society, launches new Update courses in line with the new 2023 – 2024 syllabus. The courses, which will be released on 15 January 2024, are mandatory for conveyancers to demonstrate their commitment to providing high-quality residential conveyancing advice, adherence to standardised practises and regulations, and the necessary knowledge to ensure a strong conveyancing service to clients. To maintain their CQS accreditations, firms must undertake the relevant courses within the timeframes required by the Law Society. The two new Update courses on Risk, Compliance and Client Care and Conveyancing Practice will help legal professionals understand the impact of the Building Safety Act 2022, home buying and selling reform, climate change guidance and digital conveyancing. The CQS accreditation is of vital importance to all SRA-regulated firms, which Hastings firm Janet Sinden & Co Solicitors confirmed is one reason why it chose Access Legal as its provider. Senior partner, Christopher Bean said: “We found it was a completely different, and better experience than our previous provider, the training itself was accessible and the questions were thought-provoking.”The courses, specifically designed by legal sector experts, ensure firms have up-to-date knowledge of the sector, to in turn deliver exceptional legal services to their clients.  The CQS courses are interactive and practical, use everyday scenarios and allow legal professionals to complete at a time that’s right for them – making it cost and time-efficient for both the employee and law firm.Access Legal’s training includes access to both the Core training, which is mandatory for new members of staff to complete within six months of joining a firm, and Update courses, which accredited practitioners are required to complete annually.Brian Rogers, Access Legal’s regulatory director said: “Our CQS training package offers great value with added extras this year, educating professionals further on how to use technologies to provide the best client experience. Our training will assist firms in maintaining this business-critical accreditation, help them minimise the risk of claims, and protect their reputations.“The CQS package also includes a bank of template CQS policies and precedents, developed by our team of experts to help simplify compliance with the CQS standard.“Beyond the learning a firm gains from the training, Access Legal also supports clients through a wider suite of solutions to help their entire operations, improving both productivity and efficiency. Our legal compliance, case management and legal accounts software are just a few examples of how our range of products can further strengthen a firm’s processes.”Launched in April 2021, Access Legal is part of The Access Group, one of the largest UK-headquartered providers of business management software. 3,500 UK law firms currently benefit from Access Legal’s range of software solutions and its client portfolio includes The MAPD Group, Minster Law, Winn Solicitors, Biscoes, Wolferstans and Neves Solicitors LLP.Further information about the CQS Core Training and Update Training courses can be found here.
