A focused, flexible data strategy is key according to Elite

Law firms increasingly recognise the need for a data strategy to deliver valuable business insights, but creating one is easier said than done. It can be a complex endeavour, where it’s easy to feel paralysed by the volume of data, and get lost in all the tools available for producing and processing it.

No wonder some firms are still without a data strategy, and others end up with systems cobbled together in a way that is not properly thought-through. The key to a successful data strategy is to focus on what you want to achieve — while being flexible in how you design your approach.

Hone in on what specific data you need in order to make good business decisions, and start there. That can be as simple as asking stakeholders what main data points they rely on and what data they are missing, and working out what pain points the firm most needs to solve.
