A business for good: Katchr becomes a certified B corporation

Katchr is proud to announce its successful certification as a B Corporation™ (B Corp™), joining a global community of businesses committed to using their organisations as a force for good. This achievement places Katchr among the growing B Lab™ network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet.

The B Lab certification is a rigorous and internationally recognised process that assesses a company’s performance, accountability, and transparency across various areas of business; from employee welfare and charitable giving to supply chain ethics and environmental impact. By certifying, B Corps step into a framework for continuous improvement, demonstrating they are continuously meeting B Lab’s standards – which are themselves always improving.

“I grew up in a world where business was seen as purely profit-driven, and the alternative being some sort of idealistic commune – with no middle ground” explains Graham Moore, Managing Director and Founder of Katchr. “But I’ve always believed there’s a space for good businesses, that go beyond profit to create value for everyone involved.” Reflecting on Katchr’s alignment with the B Corp ethos, Moore continued, “long before I became aware of the B Corp movement, I envisioned Katchr as a company built on ethical principles, equally benefiting our team, customers, suppliers and the wider community alike. B Corp was an obvious fit for us because it embodies exactly what we’ve always aimed to be as business for good.”

For Katchr, this signifies the start of a legally binding commitment to continuous improvement. As B Lab continue to raise the bar for qualification, Katchr is striving to consistently exceed targets. Some of the key initiatives Katchr has undertaken to uphold its commitment include:

  • Enhancement of internal governance structures, including an updated mission statement and Code of Ethics, to ensure clarity and accountability in all interactions.
  • Introduction of new benefits such as health insurance and paid volunteering days.
  • Launch of employee engagement surveys to keep improving workplace satisfaction.
  • Offsetting business travel emissions and running broader environmental impact assessments.
  • Exploring further sustainability initiatives to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
  • Commitment to donating 1% of client fees to selected charities.
  • Prioritising local sourcing and responsible suppliers.
  • Maintaining high standards of customer care and transparency.

Today, over 6,000 companies across 77 countries and 150 industries form the B Corp community. Marking a significant achievement in the SaaS (software-as-a-service) space, Katchr joins 126 UK SaaS B Corps. “The B Corp certification is not an endpoint; it’s a commitment to ongoing improvement,” says Moore. “As more companies realise that doing business with purpose is good for the world and their bottom line, we’re proud to be amongst companies leading the change.”
