Leading Wigan firm McCarthy Bennett Holland chooses InfoTrack

Leading Wigan law firm, McCarthy Bennett Holland were focussed on delivering increased efficiency and a simplified conveyancing workflow. They introduced InfoTrack into their practice to reduce time spent on administrative tasks and improve profitability on fixed price conveyancing. Let’s look at how they’ve been able to improve their workflow and minimise their administrative  efforts since then.

Looking for a better way
In operation for more than 45 years, McCarthy Bennett Holland are a firm of four partners and one conveyancer, with their conveyancing department completing around 1,200 conveyancing transactions annually. Each partner is an experienced solicitor with knowledge and interest in a specific area of law – enabling the firm to act as a “one-stop shop” for individuals and businesses alike.

Caroline Rooks is one of McCarthy Bennett Holland’s four partners and a practicing residential conveyancer and solicitor. She realised that the administrative time taken for each conveyancing matter quickly began to mount with their growing caseload, and they were accessing multiple providers for every step of the process. With numerous systems and passwords for supplying quotes, sourcing searches and indemnity policies, and finalising post-completion tasks including the SDLT and AP1, time was often lost visiting different sites, and the differing service levels from suppliers were not to their expected standards.

Combined with the inefficiencies of submitting handwritten SDLT forms and the countless documents which required scanning and saving against a matter, the time taken to complete a transaction was a burden. Caroline had identified many pain points throughout the stages of a case that could be alleviated with the
right technology.
