LexisNexis: The South London Legal Partnership is live on the latest version of Lexis Visualfiles legal workflow and case management system
The South London Legal Partnership (SLLP), a shared legal services organisation of the boroughs of Merton, Richmond, Sutton, Kingston and Wandsworth; is live on the latest version of Lexis® Visualfiles™, the legal workflow and case management system from LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions. LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions is a technology provider who works in partnership with customers to help transform legal services. The solution has streamlined the legal processes across the five boroughs, which is delivering productivity gains to the 130 users and business efficiencies to the SLLP. Visualfiles has also been instrumental in enabling the SLLP initiative to expand by providing a flexible and scalable case management platform. The borough of Wandsworth is the latest member to join the SLLP and migrate its legal matters onto to the Visualfiles case management system.
Visualfiles is enabling the SLLP to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 quality standards. With the use of a single case management system, the SLLP is able to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide services that meet the statutory and regulatory requirements via standardised and improvement-driven processes. The business operation of the SLLP today is supported by a number of workflows such as the right to buy, lease extensions, notices, housing possession, injunctions, and collection of performance indicators, to name a few.
“Visualfiles underpins our operations and is the ‘master file’ for all legal cases in the five boroughs,” explained Paul Phelan, Head of Practice, the South London Legal Partnership. “This latest version of Visualfiles further broadens the core functionality of the solution, which will help us persist with our efforts to continuously improve our efficiency and productivity. With the enhanced capabilities offered by the solution, we also have greater transparency of our business performance.”
The artificial intelligence robot functionality provided by Visualfiles is making a number of existing processes, such as document bundling, faster. The SLLP is also developing a new debt module in the solution, where the robot will be deployed to perform a number of debt-related tasks in the workflow.
The SLLP is a long-time user of the Visualfiles platform. The solution has played a contributory role in enabling the SLLP to gain recognition and win the LGC Award 2017 for Driving Efficiency Through Technology. Hosted by Merton Council, the SLLP offers the five London boroughs access to a strong pool of lawyers and professional expertise to help the Councils deliver an efficient and cost-effective legal service. The SLLP was originally set up in 2011 between Merton and Richmond and subsequently expanded to include Kingston, Sutton and now Wandsworth boroughs.
“We are delighted that Visualfiles is supporting this shared legal services initiative to grow and meet its business objectives,” commented Andy Sparkes, General Manager at LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions. “The Visualfiles platform is truly scalable and flexible and we are committed to continuously enhancing its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of public sector organisations.”
