DAC Beachcroft implements Intapp Time to streamline time recording
International legal business enables mobile time recording and time capture to improve efficiency and realisation rates. Intapp, a leading provider of business applications for professional services firms, today announced that international law firm DAC Beachcroft LLP is now live on Intapp Time for time recording. DAC Beachcroft is currently rolling out Intapp Time to fee earners across the UK.
“Accurate time recording is essential to understanding the cost of delivering services to our clients, particularly for fixed fee engagements. At the same time, it’s important to ensure that the time recording process is made as frictionless as possible for our fee earners,” said David Aird, IT Director, DAC Beachcroft. “Intapp Time is streamlining the time recording process by helping our timekeepers capture a record of the client work they are performing throughout the day, including work they might have otherwise missed. Support for mobile time recording was especially important to us given that many of our fee earners are working out of the office, often on-site with clients.”
Intapp Time helps firms reduce leakage by automatically providing lawyers with suggested time entries, including billing codes, based on client-related activity. The application is designed to adapt to individual timekeeper preferences, with support for traditional timers, as well as passive time capture and mobile time recording options. By reducing the time it takes to record time – and by enforcing checks at the point of entry to ensure that time entries are compliant with client guidelines – Intapp Time also helps to improve realisation rates through more timely billing and reducing errors that could require corrections or write-offs down the line.
David Aird added, “As we built the business case internally for Intapp Time, we worked on reviewing the potential ROI, and it was very clear to us that even marginal improvements across various metrics – additional billable hours recorded per lawyer, reduced time to collection, improved realisation rates, reduced time spent on time entry and corrections, and improved profitability on alternative fee arrangements – would deliver a tremendous benefit to the firm. And with a more complete view of how much it costs to serve our clients, we can make better informed decisions about how best to resource specific types of matters.”
The initial feedback that the IT team has received from users has been enthusiastic.
A legal director at DAC Beachcroft commented, “I am very impressed with Intapp Time so far and am already a huge fan, despite my initial apprehension about moving to a new system after having used the same time tracking tool for the last 18 years. I can see tremendous benefits in the time capture feature, which has helped me to record more time than I would otherwise, and have also been happy with how easy it has been to use with Surface Pro.”
The Intapp Professional Services supported the implementation of Intapp Time at DAC Beachcroft, working with DAC Beachcroft’s Project Team. In addition to Intapp Time, DAC Beachcroft currently uses Intapp Flow for workflow automation and Intapp Integrate for data integration.
