Thomson Reuters case study: Dundas & Wilson

Solcara’s legal search delivers simple and targeted searching of internal and external legal resources for Dundas & Wilson

Dundas & Wilson is a UK law firm with offices in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The firm’s four hundred lawyers work across two jurisdictions, four sectors and nineteen specialisms to meet clients’ UK wide objectives.

The Solcara ethos is to deliver focused knowledge management (KM) solutions that meet real business needs, in close consultation with fee earning lawyers, PSLs and information professionals.

The Dundas & Wilson Knowledge Portal was first implemented in 2007 and the system was widely used and greatly appreciated. Initially Dundas & Wilson were using the Solcara Know How product and this continues to be mission critical to the way Dundas & Wilson manage, search and share access to a tightly managed collection of precedents and other internal knowledge materials.

However, this system focused solely on internal knowledge and the need to more effectively integrate the growing number of online information services as well as other internal databases and systems was seen as essential to the overall KM strategy.
