Scottish law firm Morton Fraser MacRoberts moves forward with 3E in the Cloud
Leading Scottish law firm Morton Fraser MacRoberts (MFMac) has chosen the cloud version of 3E, the market-leading financial and practice management solution from Elite, as its technology foundation for the future.
One of the ‘Big Four’ Scottish independent law firms, MFMac employs more than 480 people across its offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, including more than 250 lawyers and 78 partners. MFMac offers practical legal advice for businesses, the public sector, charities, individuals, and families, and it counts many well-known companies, government and public sector organizations, and high-profile individuals among its clients.
With roots going back more than 400 years, the firm is the result of a recent merger of two of the longest established and most prestigious firms in Scotland. Post-merger, MFMac undertook a thorough review and selection process for many of its key technology solutions against the evolved needs, scale, and ambitions of the combined firm. As a result, 3E was selected as the firm’s core financial and practice management platform, providing the firm with a user-friendly, efficient, and agile technological foundation to support its next chapter.
By choosing the cloud version of 3E, MFMac will benefit from maximum flexibility as well as best-in-class security and reliability going forward. Built on the market-leading Microsoft Azure platform, 3E in the cloud provides state-of-the-art physical and digital protection of firm data with security practices and processes protected by top security measures, including data isolation, data encryption, inter-process communication, access control, and secure coding and testing.
In addition, the firm is deploying 3E Data Insights, which will provide greater insight into its business operations and performance than ever before, with powerful analytics and reporting that enables instant, graphic reports to facilitate faster decision-making.
“As we emerged from the recent merger of our two firms, it was very important to ensure we had the right technological foundations to help drive our combined business forward and empower our team to focus on remaining at the cutting edge of client service excellence,” said Neil Kennedy, Chief Operating Officer at MFMac. “3E in the cloud was the right choice for our future, not least because of its market-leading security and reliability, but also because it will provide us with the most flexibility as we continue to grow and evolve.”
