My, my, my, who can believe we are one month through 2016 already! I would firstly like to wish all the LPM readers a wonderful and successful 2016.
So what are the plans for 2016 at File Queen towers? With the new Data Protection Act (DPA) release only days away, the FQ has witnessed many customers picking up projects for record/ information management process that had been placed on hold in 2015.
So, my dear LPM readers, 2016 is all about process and accountability. With new changes ahead in data protection, there is now no escape from accountability around how every single one of us manages, protects, stores and destroys our data, whether it be in physical file format or electronic data.
Through spending time with our clients on-site, it is very clear to me that there is much confusion over how the new DPA will impact the legal sector. Many of our clients are unsure what processes they need to have in place, never mind how to create them.
The new act is a very wordy document that will take you many joyful hours to read … so as a 2016 gift to you, we at ADDS are partnering with a wonderful data protection officer specialist, who will be helping us create some valuable key points, advice and whitepapers on the impact of the new DPA on the legal sector. We will then be publishing educational material as well as sample processes on our website, and boiling them down for you in my monthly LPM article.
