Gateley’s continued growth with CTS
Gateley, a pioneering listed legal and professional services group, made a significant decision to partner with CTS for hosting their deployment and ongoing use of 3E remotely. This strategic collaboration aimed to enhance the group’s productivity, facilitate flexible working practices, and bolster future plans for expansion.
The Requirement
Having completed their 12th and largest acquisition in 2022, Gateley demanded a solution that could adapt to its evolving needs. By seeking a flexible solution, Gateley aimed to ensure that the practice management system could seamlessly integrate newly acquired businesses, offices, or practice areas.
CTS were introduced to Gateley due to CTS’s extensive experience working with the 3E application and their strong commitment to collaboration with Thomson Reuters. By selecting CTS as their hosting partner, Gateley was able to leverage these key advantages, which ultimately relieves pressure on the in-house team and contributes to better outcomes for the firm.
CTS worked closely with Gateley to understand its business objectives and technical requirements, ensuring that the solution was tailored to its specific use case.
Steve Peak, Head of IT at Gateley, said: “Right from the start, it was clear that CTS was wholeheartedly dedicated to serving the legal industry. They possess a true understanding of our precise needs and demands, and this deep expertise permeates every facet of their operations. We had complete peace of mind, knowing that we were in capable hands with CTS.”
The Solution
Gateley had been relying on the legacy solution Envision from Thomson Reuters, a comprehensive legal practice management system that covered their entire practice from front to back office. However, as the business evaluated its application set and IT infrastructure, it recognised the limitations imposed by an aging system. In light of this, Gateley made a strategic decision to embark on a comprehensive IT modernisation journey.
As part of this modernisation, Gateley selected 3E as their new practice management solution. This decision was driven by the desire to harness the power of advanced technology and future-proof their fundamental technology platform. 3E, being a next-generation technology, offered Gateley the opportunity to improve efficiency, enhance innovation, and drive productivity cross the organisation.
CTS took a proactive approach in designing a completely new environment specifically for Gateley’s 3E solution. This tailored environment provided dedicated and secure infrastructure resources exclusively for Gateley’s users, ensuring a high level of performance, availability, and data security.
CTS ensured that Gateley’s infrastructure was capable of delivering the required level of performance. This allowed the business to efficiently handle increasing volumes of activity, meeting client demands without any compromise on system responsiveness or efficiency. The infrastructure was designed to handle the business’ current needs and could easily scale up to accommodate future growth.
The Results
This private and independent hosting approach guarantees a high-performing and reliable platform for Gateley’s critical practice management activities. 3E can be accessed without performance bottlenecks, creating workplace efficiencies in delivering excellent client service.
Furthermore, by separating 3E from the rest of the business’ applications, Gateley can optimise resources, enhance security, and streamline maintenance processes, ensuring an optimal user experience and seamless operation of their practice management system.
Mohamed Bakeer, CTO at CTS, said: “As Gateley continues to expand and develop, CTS’ managed cloud solution provides the group with the scalability and flexibility needed to support the anticipated growth without compromising performance, data security, or user experience. CTS are a long-term trusted advisor, not just a supplier, and we strive to deliver productivity and positive outcomes for both now and in the future.”
Steve Peak, Head of IT at Gateley, concluded: “As we strive to become increasingly cloud-first, it is truly comforting to have CTS by our side, leveraging their deep expertise to help us optimise our hosting environment and streamline our operations. With their support, we can confidently embark on our digital transformation journey, knowing that we have a trusted partner committed to our success”.
