Case study: Report Factory and Wedlake Bell move time
Wedlake Bell needed to discontinue their use of Rekoop Time and move to Intapp Time (Cloud) based on the removal of support by Microsoft of one of the underlying technologies used in the Rekoop solution (Microsoft Silverlight).
Intapp proposed and engaged Report Factory’s Australian team to execute the transition and the integration of Intapp Time Cloud to Wedlake Bell’s Thompson Reuters Elite 3E PMS. This was met with initial scepticism because of time zone differences, but ended up shortening the overall project time and providing a rapid high quality result.
David Hymers, head of IT at Wedlake Bell was heavily involved in the project, given its ridiculously short timeframe. (the project took 7 weeks start to finish). His view of the engagement and working with the Report Factory team is “They were superb from start to finish. Report Factory understood we were up against a very tight deadline and ensured we were kept on track. They advised us at each step, which meant the system was configured optimally to suit our firm.”
Report Factory conducted daily project meetings via Teams with the Wedlake IT and Business change teams. Every day issues and ideas were discussed and then Report Factory implemented these whilst the Wedlake Team were sleeping. Wedlake were able to wake up to new and changed implementation items every day, and test throughout their workday, handing over again each day to the Report Factory Team.
“In essence our project ran 24 hours a day, which is great when you have a fixed deadline and not much time” said David Hymers.
Of the time zone difference and the apparent difficulty of working with the Australian resources, David Hymers said “In practice things worked extremely well, Report Factory scheduled calls to suit us, and they were extremely proactive and responsive when addressing challenges along the way”.
Christian Beecher from Report Factory was also full of praise for the Wedlake Team, saying “They are a great team to work with, responsive and knowledgeable, but also flexible and understanding of what the real end goal was. We had a lot to get through, including a new set of integrations with 3E using Intapp’s IIS platform which is relatively new.”.
Anneka Creamer, Head of Training at Report Factory provided training materials and quick reference guides to help the Wedlake Bell training team get users up to speed on the new solution, easing the transition, and driving confidence in the rapid rollout and change. David Hymers said of the training, and the staff reaction “We all know that people don’t like change, especially when it comes to adopting new systems. However, Report Factory advised and supported us on the change management piece, helping to mitigate the impact on our staff“.
Overall it was a successful project run 24 hours a day around a global project team with rapid response and a high attention to detail. At the conclusion Report Factory had a happy client and Wedlake, more importantly, had a rapidly deployed working solution in record time.
Report Factory (UK) Limited uses its Australian resources to conduct UK work “out of hours” dramatically changing the project landscape for UK firms.
