InfoTrack scales up to meet digital AP1 influx
In response to the recent announcement from HM Land Registry advising all register update applications will be required to be submitted digitally from November 2022, InfoTrack is scaling up its dedicated post-completion service to support the industry during this transition.
The move announced last week has caught many in the industry by surprise but is an inevitable step in the digitisation of the conveyancing process. Nevertheless, it does represent a major challenge for conveyancers and shows how far the industry still has to go. Currently around 80% of the AP1 Forms that are submitted to the Land Registry are printed documents that are either scanned and uploaded or posted. The inefficiencies in this process creates a huge data processing and error management burden. So, in just less than 12 months all AP1s will have to be submitted digitally through the customer portal or the business gateway, which InfoTrack already uses to submit the forms on their client’s behalf.
InfoTrack already has teams dedicated to supporting conveyancers with their submissions, but the scale and speed of this change has led to the decision to scale up the customer helpdesk teams through training and additional recruitment.
Scott Bozinis, CEO of InfoTrack says: “We launched our digital AP1 service over 5 years ago and since then have been continually improving the software and the user experience. We’re excited that our platform, and the way the forms are structured to reduce errors and therefore requisitions, will prove invaluable during this busy migration period. We have an outstanding team of specialists in Land Registry submissions who support our clients. However, with 80% of the industry making the change in such a short amount of time we’re committing to supporting clients who will be new to this by investing in more people to meet this demand.”
Alexandra Duke, InfoTrack’s Post Completion Product Manager comments: “I’d really advise conveyancers to make the move as soon as possible and not wait until the last minute. We’ve built our AP1 service to guide you through the digital registration process, and as a result once complicated matters like multiple form applications, and even Shared Ownership Staircasing can become really easy to manage”.
Paul Sams, a Partner at law firm Dutton Gregory, uses InfoTrack’s service to submit their Land Registry Applications adds: “InfoTrack’s online AP1 system has revolutionised the way in which we work. Being able to pre-populate and integrate our case management system with HMLR InfoTrack saves so much time. Duplication of tasks is ended. Time is saved and what was a boring administration task takes much less time. The savings to the team are immense.”
