InfoTrack: Use of electronic signatures grows 400%
Since the UK was placed in lockdown, there has been an 400% increase in electronic signatures, according to new data released by InfoTrack, the legal service provider.
The increase comes as firms look for solutions that obtain signatures on paperwork during a period when staff are working remotely, with limited access to printers and the postal service. 80% of documents sent for signing are reviewed, signed and within just 24 hours, demonstrating the appeal of electronic signatures from both law firms and their clients.
The news comes shortly after comments made by the Lord Chancellor, who recently stated electronic signatures ’are permissible and can be used in confidence in commercial and consumer documents’.
Adam Bullion, General Manager of Marketing comments “It isn’t necessarily a surprise to see growth in the use of SignIT, backed by DocuSign, at this moment in time but it is very encouraging for firms to see the speed in which documents are being returned. It is clear that clients of law firms are accustomed to completing information online and trust software to complete agreements and other legal documentation. Typically, the use of SignIT is proving popular as clients begin to see the effectiveness, benefit from a faster turnaround and see a way to reduce overheads within their business.
Adam continues, ” SignIT is popular because the technology enables firms to upload any format of document and apply where they want the various parties to sign, within a secure environment. Law firms enjoy visibility over who has esigned and which clients may need reminding, all from the unique InfoTrack dashboard.”
InfoTrack have made SignIT free until the end of May with Scott Bozinis, CEO of InfoTrack saying “Our hope is by removing the cost, it will ease just some of the challenges clients face whilst working from home. The advantage is that they are quick, secure, simple to use and can be easily accessed by all signing parties.”
